Going Barefoot To First Communion

You referring to the historical Socrates? Can anyone here say they actually seen with their own eyes this Socrates?

Only Reyb can answer that question.

I mean the Real Reyb who speaks to you in your hearts, not the Historical Reyb who posts on Phatmass, and does not exist in reality.

No...everybody was barefoot, they had a shoe check at the door...The same idea as the OP you are standing on Holy Ground.

I think at catholic churches must have a discalcing and feet washing (essential, by hygienic reasons) zone, like mosques. So, people who want to enter and attend barefoot the services leave there their footwear and wash the feet, also washing their feet people who already walked barefoot from home to church.

Every time I see this, I am reminded of the fact that I wonder about and have not asked elsewhere if Coptic Catholics go barefoot during communion or if that is merely Coptic Orthodox. I suspect both do as this has a cultural element to it.

That is interesting, because I have read that Coptic Orthodox do not walk barefoot after receiving holy communion in order to avoid the possibility of getting cut and bleeding. Do they put shoes on immediately after receiving communion?

They leave their shoes by their seats, go up to receive, then return to their seat locations and put their shoes back on.

That's amesome.

In America kids don't know what it is to be barefoot anymore.

because of drug addiction and alcoholism. 1.used needles. 2.broken glass.

But on that i have gone to mass bare foot before and recieved holy communion. I don't where a hat in church though. I don't see anything wrong with being barefoot in holy mass for anyone, but than there is the legal stuff and somone hurting there foot and suing the church, but i don't think barefoot is a holy matter there is nothing in scripture or sacred tradition on the matter. The reason men don't where hats when praying is biblical "A man that covers his head while praying dishonours his head." but the verse stipulates a man,i assume it is good for a women to cover her head at holy mass. I've had a hankering to start wearing a hat at mass to dishonour my head because it is a mess up there.

Onward christian souls.

JESUS iz LORD.

GOD is Good.

don't walk on the bichumen with bare feet, it will scold your sole. And sometimes cement can get pretty hot too.
