Ice_nine
^^ orthographical error. Point invalid. But seriously why can't this stuff be done outside of the liturgy? You know dress up in whatever you want to to "reach the kids" but just not during that one hour a week.

Brother Adam
Well this could make the guy wearing robes and summoning the transformation of a piece of bread into the blood and flesh of a 1st century Rabbi from an alter altar look kind of silly. http://www.colbertnation.com/the-colbert-report-videos/423715/february-11-2013/garry-wills

God the Father
If only he did the voices too, it might make Mass bearable.
Fidei Defensor
I think there are worse things in the world than this. Sure, it may not be a good thing, but it's not the worst.
Nihil Obstat
I think there are worse things in the world than this. Sure, it may not be a good thing, but it's not the worst. That just goes without saying though. It is hard to imagine what literally the worst possible priest would be like. Anyone could think of an arbitrarily large number of things that any priest could do that would be just that much worse. It does not change the fact that what this priest is doing is very wrong, even though it would be worse if he were also handing out condoms at a homosexual Planned Parenthood satan worshipping Klan meeting. At least that would be worth reading about.

Apotheoun
I think there are worse things in the world than this. Sure, it may not be a good thing, but it's not the worst. I do not think anyone has said that this is the worst thing to have ever happened in the world. Heck, it is not even the worst liturgical abuse to have occurred in recent times (just watch the LA Religious Education Congress liturgies). I would call this priest's actions during these children's masses lame, even though - as I said earlier - I think he is probably doing this with good motives. If anything his actions reveal that he either did not pay attention in seminary, or the seminary did a poor job forming him liturgically.

I was just commenting on the general tone of this thread which makes it seem like this is a hell-worthy offense. It is not.
