LouisvilleFan
Maybe this is the first time in history that we've had two popes living peacefully and in full agreement about who's in authority.
CatholicCid
Interestingly enough, the last time we had two living Pontiffs was when Celestine V abdicated and Boniface VIII was elected following his resignation. Though he desired to return to monastic solitude, Boniface instead had Celestine imprisoned. This was at the end of the 13th Century. The most recent abdication prior to Benedict's was Gregory XII's ~600 years ago. Though he had abdicated 2 years prior, his successor, Martin V, was not elected until after Gregory's death. Catholictothecore
Wow. I watched the RomeReports video that showed them praying together. I couldn't help but think about the hands God has trusted his Church with. God bless Pope Francis! God bless Benedict XVI!
OnlySunshine
Wow, Benedict XVI looks so skinny. :( However, I love these pictures. Pope Francis was so kind to visit Pope Emeritus and pray with him. :)
