I would recommend first, prayer, and fasting for his conversion. Then while still praying for him, I agree about writing to the bishop. We really need to pray for our priests, the devil never sleeps...I will also join you in praying for his conversion.

I think it is a huge overstatement that supporting equal rights for homosexuals equates to a lack of belief in the basics of the Faith. That is, of course, you feel that the subjugation and dismissal of homosexuals is a fundamental tenet of the Faith.

Depends on what you mean by "equal rights."

The Church firmly and unequivocally opposes any legal recognition of homosexual "marriages" or "civil unions," as well as adoption of children by homosexual households.

Please see the CDF document: CONSIDERATIONS REGARDING PROPOSALS TO GIVE LEGAL RECOGNITION TO UNIONS BETWEEN HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS.

The Church teaches that respect for homosexual persons cannot lead in any way to approval of homosexual behaviour or to legal recognition of homosexual unions. The common good requires that laws recognize, promote and protect marriage as the basis of the family, the primary unit of society. Legal recognition of homosexual unions or placing them on the same level as marriage would mean not only the approval of deviant behaviour, with the consequence of making it a model in present-day society, but would also obscure basic values which belong to the common inheritance of humanity. The Church cannot fail to defend these values, for the good of men and women and for the good of society itself.

Regarding "non-discrimination" and "equal rights", see:  SOME CONSIDERATIONS CONCERNING THE RESPONSE TO LEGISLATIVE PROPOSALS ON THE NON-DISCRIMINATION OF HOMOSEXUAL PERSONS.

(relevant section cited by Apotheoun here: http://www.phatmass.com/phorum/topic/127927-phatmassers-really-need-your-advice/?p=2560748)

The Church also teaches that it is wrong to promote immoral and disordered behavior as a good.

Also, it should be obvious that supporting Planned Parenthood, this country's largest provider and promoter of abortions and contraceptives, is contrary to basic moral teachings.

This priest was clearly acting out of line.

Fidei Defensor

Why do I need to know this? I don't.

Furthermore, how exactly can you claim that you don't do anything different from the norm? You just did. How often does one go onto a message board and declare their sexual attraction as the main identifier as to who they are?

My sexual attraction isn't my main identifier. However, in this thread, it is relevant because I am a human being just like you, and with the exception of my sexual preference, I am no different than you. The way you speak of homosexuality makes you seem as if you have relegated a category of people to a less than human status.

Don't you know that every time you mention your sexual preference, you're supposed to lament what a terrible person you are? Gee whiz, everyone knows you're supposed to lash yourself bloody whenever discussing the matter!

Not sure how you are reading all that in my posts.

It is a rejection of sin, be it those who want to murder the unborn, murder at all or those who want to promote depraved behavior.

The thread was not established for a coming out and I will keep you in my prayers
