FutureCarmeliteClaire
Y U SO EXPENSIVE? At least, the cute looking ones. I need to buy both socks and sleeves because of my upper extremity clot history, and I don't want terribly ugly ones. I have one pair of white ones from the hospital after my surgery. I'm having a particularly hard time finding sleeves. :/ Any ideas? Have any of y'all had to wear compression sleeves/socks before? Maggyie
No but at my old job they were part of the inventory. I hated the compression garments because they always had to be special ordered and you're right, they're so expensive. Especially the pantyhose, people would hit the roof when I told them how much for a pair of stockings :( We did a lot of the Jobst brand and Sigvaris. I liked the Sigvaris slightly better, but they're all pretty... beige.

Could you just cut the "foot" off one of the pairs of socks and wear them as sleeves? I don't know, I've never had to wear them.

I've never had to wear them but I am a trained nursing assistant so I had to learn how to put them on patients. Support stockings are the worst because they have no give and it's hard to put them on. I do know some medical websites that have support socks listed for a good price. :) Support Socks http://www.drleonards.com/Support-Mobility/Support-Socks-More/110700/1/1/products_page.cfm http://www.amerimark.com/cgi-bin/amerimark/cate_id/hltcsphos/item_browse.html Compression Sleeves http://www.mcdavidusa.com/Product/656R/MCDAVID_Compression_Arm_Sleeve.aspx http://www.zensah.com/men/men-accessories/compression-arm-sleeves.html http://www.customsportssleeves.com/Custom-Sized-Arm-Sleeve_p_17.html http://www.vitalitymedical.com/arm-sleeve-glove-gauntlet.html http://www.backcountry.com/zensah-compression-arm-sleeves http://www.swiftwick.com/arm-sleeve-10992-prd1.htm
Tufsoles
Being a nurse and all besides the websites that MM has given you, You could go to the local nursing home and ask about their "anti embolism socks/ Ted Hose and compression sleeves." and where they get them from alot of times they have more resources available and you could be able to get cute ones cheap possibly. They are hard to put on but for a good reason, they are suppose to prevent swelling and blood pooling in the lower legs or your case upper body. My ma suggests walgreens, walmart, and rite aid. I think Dr. Scholls has some but I think they are the beige boredom ones. You might want to call your Primary Care doc or the Doc that is dealing with your issue as well. They may have good suggestions. I hope that this does help.

Tufsoles
Oh no, it's not. FCC, Another note, Remember no wrinkles in the socks, this could cause pressure sores(aka Bed Sores). We don't want that with someone like you.
