LaboureSociety
Dear phatmass vocation discerners, The Labouré Society would like to invite you to join us. We assist those accepted into priestly or religious formation who have student loans (nearly half of all discerners). We have two 'classes' a year: one July 1 - December 31 with grants in January and the second from January 1 - June 30 with grants in July. Preparations begin 2 months before each class with online 'assignments' including writing one's vocation story, biblical study, and ethical fundraising. Each class consists of those accepted into formation who share their stories and ask for help for many vocations to priesthood and religious life through TLS. They do this in their own local areas with lots of support from TLS and each other. Why fundraising? 1. Church workers have been supported in their vocations throughout history -just ask Saint Paul. It is the Christian community's privilege to assist in delivering vocations. 2. Aspirants learn important practical skills to serve their communities or dioceses: Fundraising and development, public speaking, evangelization, sharing personal testimonies, time management, project development... 3. Fundraising is an amazingly powerful opportunity to build and develop relationships, evangelize, and spread a culture of vocation discernment, while solving practical barries to the vocations our Church needs. In all, fundraising is a powerful conduit of God's grace. We began a new program in 2011 that has been very successful. Aspirants in our last class received over $200,000. The average award was $20,000 but ranged from $3,500 -$45,000 based on need and activity. We would like to invite you to contact us for more information if you are discerning and need assistance. Preparations for our next class begin on APRIL 1! To learn more, please contact us via: www.LaboureSociety.org. :nun: :nun1: :nun2: :nun3: :priest: I couldn't resist these great smiley faces. Blessings! Edited March 20, 2013 by LaboureSociety

Gabriela
p.s. Our friends at The Institute on Religious Life and The National Catholic Register have written very kind articles about the new program. If you'd like to learn more, please take a look: http://labouresociety.org/print/ I'm glad you posted that, cuz at first I'd never heard of this organization, so the first thing I did was go to the website to check out that the organization is legit. Looks to be. Thanks for considering that, though!
