ChristinaTherese
When my parents and I visit my grandmother tomorrow, would it be wrong to go to her Mennonite church with her? I would be inclined to go, just to show that I still think she is Christian and respect that (which I do), but I asked a priest if it would be wrong to go to a Protestant church and he said it would. I am guessing that we miscommunicated and he thought that I was asking if I would be wrong to go for no good reason, so I'm inclined to neglect what he said in favor of assuming that he would have said differently if I had explained what I meant better. My brother also was told, a few years ago, that he should go to church with his family on Easter under approximately the same circumstances, so I'm inclined to take that as precedent and go. (Before you ask, yes, I did go to Mass this evening.)
dUSt
As long as you also fulfill your Sunday mass obligation (to receive the true Body and Blood of Jesus Christ) you should be fine. The important thing is to only attend a non-Catholic church as a visitor and do not participate in their form of communion or sacraments, as that would be condoning something that does not have the fullness of truth only found in the Catholic faith. You should also be fully prepared to defend your faith and explain why you cannot fully participate.
