morostheos
Have you ever read/heard of the book "The Fire in the Equations" by Kitty Ferguson? As a Catholic scientist myself, I highly recommend it. I've got some other books on Faith and Science too, but I'll have to go dig up the titles. I found hers most compelling.
Nihil Obstat
Also Hinduism is an ancient One and Only God theology. Hinduism is a great compliment to Catholicism. (some may say i'm blasphemous, but it is true) Wut. No.
Apotheoun
It is important to try and overcome the intellectual difficulties that are preventing you from believing in God, but as strange as it sounds I would recommend that you keep praying by doing some form of recollection and mediation. Perhaps a break through will someday occur.
Evangetholic
.... Also Hinduism is an ancient One and Only God theology. Hinduism is a great compliment to Catholicism. (some may say i'm blasphemous, but it is true) Other protestant religions can get you into trouble, like Mormonism was created by a con-artist name Joe Smith, Buddhism is an aethiestic protestant version of Hinduism. Think Selfless, not Selfish! .... But all religions have come way far off the track. And look how much trouble science has gotten us into. The world follows mammon, not God. ..... Become one, and see how difficult the faith path is then, even so called church people will reject you.
CatholicCid
As someone in a similar vein, might I suggest Ratzinger's "Introduction to Christianity." His style is one that is very systematic and logical. As to my own struggles, one question that I use as an anchoring point to faith is, "Why should man be good?" I recognize that I accept a system of virtue ethics. Yet, this system is useless if there is no God. All other ethical systems seem themselves without force behind them. To best describe this line of thought, I'd recommend this blog post from Patheos. This does not necessarily lead to Catholicism, but, I think, with searching Christianity is seen as the most logical religion and, from that, Catholicism the true religion. Anyway, neither of these will be able to fully convince you that there is a God. But, perhaps, it will help you in your search. When it comes down to it, faith is necessary when reason becomes stumped. But, that doesn't mean we shouldn't keep searching. You'll be in my prayers :smile2: Edited March 16, 2013 by CatholicCid
T-fish
Look at the idiots. I see their reactions. oy vey. These are the types that drive people away from the Church. Catholic scientists? rotfl No such thing. God is not science. God is Love. Seek God on your own. Just don't blindly follow Dogma and Doctrine. The Upanisads is a great book about how to know and love God in easy peasy way. Its the same message. "Trust in God". Many idiots think that Hinduism is a pagan religion and it's blasphemous (these are the ones who probably would have voted for Romney even though Mormonism is the most blasphemous religion against the Church) but Hinduism it's Heart is The Self (God) Like Love your neighbor as yourself. The SELF as in God/Christ/Spirit lives in all of us. Many people are not strong enough in faith to read other religious material even though many great missionaries went to those countries and blended in. Just don't rely on science. God rarely plays a doctor. What do you need to know a blood type for? Did they test Jesus for his cholesterol? Trust in God. Even Aquinas said it was all straw. You don't have to be a "practicing catholic" to be catholic. Many monks went off into the desert. They didn't have envelopes or participate in Mass. Let the Spirit guide you, not hypocrites who honor with their lips. Dominus vobiscum!
Nihil Obstat
Ugh. Looks like we have ourselves another 'character' who is here to show us all the errors of our unenlightened ways. Great.

T-fish
Funny how those things go missing. And funny how they return. No wonder people lose Faith. Instead of trying to help this person grow with God, you'd rather try to bully me. Oh and Justin Beiber, nice Tuna. I lived in Ocean City, MARYland most of my life and my brothers where fishermen. Evangetholic
Curiosity killed the cat, but here goes. You come onto a Catholic website (bear in mind please that Catholicism is a specific thing--not a set of notional personal opinions) and say things that are plainly against the authoritative teaching of the Catholic Church (outside of which there is no salvation, lol, and precious little inside :o )--yet you feel bullied by half-assed, inattentive responses to your opinions? Seems odd. Edited March 16, 2013 by Evangetholic
