HisChildForever
Annie, you can still go swimming! :) The popular swimsuit market is depressing, but there are other options! I felt the same way, but I really put some effort into researching modest swimwear and I found some great and stylish swim DRESSES! Here are some swim dresses I particularly like (note that you can change the colors!) 1. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=728&cid=5 (the turquoise looks beautiful!) 2. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=159&cid=5 ("Beautiful modest swim-dress designed to provide sun and body coverage so you feel comfortable and confident both in and out of the water. A contrast trim belt at the waist and a-line skirt gives a flattering silhouette.") 3. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=160&cid=5 ("Beautiful modest swim-dress designed to provide sun and body coverage so you feel comfortable and confident both in and out of the water. Bell skirt with contrast waist tie, and sleeve and hem detail for a modern twist. Made of figure-forgiving fabric with a plain weave and subtle sheen.") I have the second one in blue and it fits beautifully, looks beautiful when worn, and makes me feel feminine. I never have to worry about being immodest in the water! :) I'm going to be perfectly honest. And blunt. I would never in my life wear those. ToJesusMyHeart
I'm going to be perfectly honest. And blunt. I would never in my life wear those. That's fine; you don't have to. My spiritual director and I have decided that it's what I should wear to swim. I love it, and I won't wear anything else now that I've found these. :)

HisChildForever
I found this piece interesting: http://abigails-alcove.blogspot.com/2010/06/blog-post_3177.html I find this quote very uncomfortable: Once Hannah started hanging out with Nuns who confirmed her future vocation to me, Hannah's vocation is between her and God. Not to mention the girl is 7 years old. Yeah it could be her vocation, but I don't like the idea of raising a child in the direction the parent (or nuns) think she's going in. cartermia
This is me and what I am comfortable in. I know it is a little low cut and it shows my arm but it isn't as bad as some swimsuits...
Winchester
I think it might show a little too much face.
ToJesusMyHeart
those are swimming suits? Yes, they are. Made of the same fabric as the other stuff. And they're super comfortable and easy to swim in. And people who've seen me swim in it have given me only compliments and gratitude. :)
gaudium et spes
I love those swim dresses, TJMH. :like3: Thank you so much for sharing those with us. I am tired of searching the stores for swimsuits when all they have is immodest nonsense that barely covers your "parts." Praise God for some awesome designers who made those beautiful swim dresses that are actually, genuinely, Marian-quality modest. What would Mary wear to go swimming? That's what I base my standards off of. Can't wait to buy a swim dress! Thank you again! :winner:
PhuturePriest
My sister has found really nice swim suits that are modest, but not over-the-top. She has a new one that doesn't quite look like this, but here is her last one which is comparable: It's what she likes and she says it's comfortable to swim in. It's skin tight and it's a lot like a Scuba suit, really.
morostheos
I've always liked the Land's End swimsuits. Lots of options, plenty of coverage. Plus they are super cute.
