ToJesusMyHeart
Annie, you can still go swimming! :) The popular swimsuit market is depressing, but there are other options! I felt the same way, but I really put some effort into researching modest swimwear and I found some great and stylish swim DRESSES! Here are some swim dresses I particularly like (note that you can change the colors!) 1. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=728&cid=5 (the turquoise looks beautiful!) 2. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=159&cid=5 ("Beautiful modest swim-dress designed to provide sun and body coverage so you feel comfortable and confident both in and out of the water. A contrast trim belt at the waist and a-line skirt gives a flattering silhouette.") 3. http://www.junees.com/product.php?id=160&cid=5 ("Beautiful modest swim-dress designed to provide sun and body coverage so you feel comfortable and confident both in and out of the water. Bell skirt with contrast waist tie, and sleeve and hem detail for a modern twist. Made of figure-forgiving fabric with a plain weave and subtle sheen.") I have the second one in blue and it fits beautifully, looks beautiful when worn, and makes me feel feminine. I never have to worry about being immodest in the water! :)

Kateri89
Well Annie I think it's fine if you want to start a thread about it. If people are tired of talking about it they don't have to open this thread. If they are interested then they'll have a genuine discussion about it. It's pretty simple. And yes I did start a thread recently asking where the other PM women shop for modest clothes. :)

My point was "just don't be surprised if people aren't excited about it." ;) For the record, I did appreciate your thread for suggestions of places to shop. I didn't see anything I wasn't already familiar with, but your thread took a different angle that isn't generally touched in other modesty threads. FutureCarmeliteClaire
Go to the "Ladies, Get Dressed Up!" thread. We post pics of cute outfits and stuff, and it would be a good idea to keep it all in one thread.
ToJesusMyHeart
I had never heard of this. Thanks for sharing! :) My pleasure! It was such a source of hope to know that modest swimwear does exist, and it's stylish too!
Basilisa Marie
Okay...I'll try to bite in hopes that this stays civil. There's a fairly big circle that encompasses things that are "actually" modest, and people tend to have smaller circles of what they are comfortable with naming as modest within that circle. Some people feel that a two-piece swimsuit can be more than appropriate at the beach. Others feel wildly uncomfortable in anything but a high collar and elbow-length sleeves. The things we have to ask ourselves are: Is this outfit appropriate for the situation? Does it cover all my "parts"? Am I wearing it without immodest intentions? If you can answer yes to all three questions, I think you're good. Different people have different levels of comfort when it comes to modesty. Personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with many different kinds of two-piece swimsuits at a beach. If I'm swimming, I'll definitely wear a bikini. If I'm just lounging on the beach, I'll throw on a tank top and/or shorts. I feel like that's a decent middle ground - my brothers in Christ agree to try to not objectify me, and I help out a little when I'm reading a book under an umbrella. I don't think a G-string thong is appropriate, but I also think it's unreasonable for people to expect women to be completely covered up on the beach in the summer. But I know there are many people who think differently than I do, and that's okay. I'm not going to tell a sister in Christ that she is being scrupulous if she wants to wear a swimdress. But I'd hope others would extend the same courtesy to me in my tank top.
Kylie Spinelli
I think SrKateri started a thread a week or so ago about good stores to shop at. I think the171 started the thread with photos of cute outfits... I may be confusing who started which thread, though. where can I find these aforementioned threads??
