Confiteor Makes Me Upset

Well, when I am upset I just want to take the monstrance with the bread in it a throw it on the floor and scream F-you.  I don't think being upset helps us at all.  so what exactly do you mean?

I hope you're not being serious.  Even as a Baptist, when I didn't believe in the Real Presence, the thought of this would be anathema to me.  You have my prayers either way though.

I wish at our parish we would pray it more often. It is a beautiful prayer asking God for forgivness and reminded us that we are a sinful people. Yet, in that very same liturgy, we get to celebrate the Eucharist. What more could you want?

You must take control of your passions, bitter anger is a grave and harmful poison for your heart, both spiritually and biologically. It can be like alcohol to a alcoholic. Only it is a cup that never runs dry, so long as you drink from it. And the more you drink from it the more you give yourself over to the bondage of the devil.

Dear fellow human beings,
Confiteor makes me upset. I know I am supposed to say that I'm sorry for my evilness. The thing is, when Gid does something dumb eg not helping me He always gets away with it. I think God should tell me sorry for being rude to me. How do you even nanage to say the Confiteor?

hmm try to look at it this way...

God created us out of nothing. He created us simply to give us happiness and to love Him, to be with Him. He gave us free will so we can FREELY love Him, and He respects our free will. Instead of being thankful and loving Him, we hurt Him, and hurt others, and our souls too, because every mortal sin results in spiritual death...

and still after all this, God becomes a Man (think of His humility here...) and let's His creation kill Him, to save these same people (us) from sin.

He didn't stop there but made the Sacraments to give us His Body and Blood, literally, not symbolically present.

He also washes away all our sins in Confession. Even if we keep falling and struggling, despite good intentions. Even people who had bad intentions, but then repented later on, He accepts them all if they want to come back. He suffers when souls are lost, when sinners don't want to turn to Him, He longs for us all to be with Him, not just to know Him but to be one with Him, forever...

After all this... how can we blame God, for OUR sins? We chose them... we have free will. Rather, we could use our free will to repent of past sins, and try to love God now and always from now on :)

God is not the one who insulted us. We insulted Him. We are rude to Him. We nailed Him to the Cross, when He was praying for the Father to forgive, when He loved.

Furthermore, God DOES offer us grace to say no to temptation, however do we accept it? do we rely on Him? If we prayed in moments of temptation, we would have more strenght to say no... the reason we sin is because WE choose to. It's actually completely our fault, because we can say no, and earn merit by saying no to sin. We have free will. God understands our weakness... He forgives weakness. It's sin that's intended, - that's more serious. We need to confess all our mortal sins, that is sins that we did wilfully and knowingly, that are against the Commandments.

Hope this helps you my friend :) God bless.

people always say it's my fault. It's never God's fault. Maybe Catholicism isn't really my religion

I only drink tea.

A dictator always want it his way....but if God is no dictator then this sounds a bit strange....ok look, yes I am very angry with God. Me and John Lennon are the angry ones...

How can God be a "dictator" when He's trying to save us from an eternity of spiritual death? If a child wants to jump off a bridge and his father is trying to stop him, and the child is screaming "dictator!!!! let me jump off the bridge!!!" - this is like that...

:( Why would you want to hurt Jesus, because you are upset? Why would you say that to someone who loves you more than His life?
