PhuturePriest
God is amazing. He answered every one of my prayers today. I did well during my karate training today and didn't seriously injure myself or someone else (We were practicing really dangerous techniques that can cripple your hand for life), I spoke well when I talked to Kate, and God even answered my prayer of making it longer than one hour. "Make it two, or maybe even three!" I said at Mass. The official time is two hours and forty one minutes. She had a great time and wants to talk again as early as next week. God even answered my prayer and let Father go to my side of the church so I received communion from him instead of an EMHC. God is good...

Guest
Evan not to get to deep in this thread...But what do you think that means ? Those He elected He foreknew ? How do we explain that in this life and in human terms ? Peace to you my friend.
Evangetholic
"For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers." Romans 8:29 That's the actual verse. I think, in context, and given a Catholic not Calvinist reading, the section is about how God delights in those of us who love Him. How He knew that we'd answer the call He sends to all men and use the graces He's made available to us for His glory--He delights in us because we delight in Him. We serve no vague stranger in the sky, but someone who is preoccupied with us. We are the glory of His creation. :)
Nihil Obstat
[29] He also predestinated: That is, God hath preordained that all his elect should be conformable to the image of his Son. We must not here offer to pry into the secrets of God's eternal election; only firmly believe that all our good, in time and eternity, flows originally from God's free goodness; and all our evil from man's free will.
