Nihil Obstat
When you stop and think about it for a moment, it is mind-bogglingly easy to be forgiven of even the most evil of sins. You could be, objectively, the most evil person in the entire world, and with a change of heart and a few minutes (or perhaps a couple hours, for our example) in the confessional, and you are in a state of grace. PhuturePriest
As long as you can get in and out in 5-7 minutes or less, don't worry about it. But it's rude to other people waiting in line to take much longer. Especially when the priest is only available for 30 minutes or so. if you have to make a longer confession, either schedule a time with a priest or go to one of those big Lenten penance services where there are a lot of priests and there is a good long amount of time for confessions. I can't tell you how many times I've had to abstain from the Eucharist because someone took 10-30 minutes for confession and so I didn't get a chance to go. Hence my reason to quit using lists and examinations. I wasn't sinning very greatly at the time -- it's what I had done in the past three years and hadn't confessed that was messing me up. Imagine thirty or more mortal sins examinations reminded me of and then realizing I never confessed them. This was a weekly ritual. In the last November I confessed the last sin I ever remembered doing in that three year period, and I haven't remembered anything since, thank goodness. It's nice now that I can go face-to-face and get out of there in a few minutes. Edited March 9, 2013 by FuturePriest387

MarysLittleFlower
I tend to use lists... I get so nervous otherwise.. but there were times it was so dark I couldn't read the list, but God helped me to remember my sins anyway!:) Edited March 12, 2013 by MarysLittleFlower
