franciscanheart
Talked to Mark Shea on facebook. He gave me some stuff to read and his number. We are going to talk next week. He also told me to pray to Saint Thomas. Good advice. Love St. Thomas.
BarbTherese
Talked to Mark Shea on facebook. He gave me some stuff to read and his number. We are going to talk next week. He also told me to pray to Saint Thomas. Good move! Not at all unusual for a very strong Faith to preclude a time/period/stage of much questioning. Questioning is Faith seeking to understand and to embrace what cannot be understood as mystery. The nun who taught me said "One thousand difficulties cannot make one doubt" There sometimes can be quite a distance between Catholicism per se, and Catholicism as it is practised culturally, even taught sometimes. God bless your questioning and erase all doubt. Edited March 9, 2013 by BarbaraTherese

Seven77
Here are 2 secular, ancient historical references to Jesus: The Annals, Book XV by Tacitus (Roman senator and historian). Search Christus.http://classics.mit.edu/Tacitus/annals.mb.txtThe Death of Peregrine by Lucian (Greek satirist). Search Christian.http://ebooks.adelaide.edu.au/l/lucian/works/chapter59.html As for Josephus, he does refer to Jesus...
