Who has a home altar and what is a part of it? (Statues, art, books, etc.)

Gathering ideas for me own! :)

I don't anymore (don't have the space) but I used to have one on top of my dresser. I kept on it:

My bible

The Imitation of Christ

Two angel figurines I'd been given

My rosaries & rosary booklets

Various candles
My cross necklace (when I wasn't wearing it)
This glass statue type thing with the Crucifixion and the Blessed Mother on it
Various holy cards

A thing saying "Jesus loves you and so I" on it that was a gift
My baptismal candle

Now I'd add my crucifixes and my statue of the Blessed Mother.

I don't have an altar, per se, but I have a little nook shelf where I keep:

  • A statue of the Sacred Heart
  • my sick call crucifix
  • a double golden frame icon of Theotokos and Christ the Divine Teacher
  • a blessed rose from St. Therese
  • Holy Water from the Jordan River
  • a Chi-Ro candle, some palm fronds and palm crosses from last year and the previous year

I also have on my bookcase:

  • A statue of Our Lady of Graces (one of her hands is broken off from a falling incident :( )
  • My regular holy water
  • A picture of L'Innocence by Bougereau
  • A statue of St. Therese
  • A statue of St. Martin de Porres

Hanging on my wall:

  • The Divine Mercy image
  • A very small crucifix that can be held in your hand  :)
  • A stone cross with the names of Jesus Christ (Good Shepherd, Morning Star, etc.)
  • My calendar with the Feast Days

Anyone who walked in my room would know a Catholic lives here.  :)

I don't actually have an altar but I do have various religious items all over my apartment.  I have 2 different statues of Our Lady of Guadalupe and a candle with her on it, an Our Lady of Grace statue, Our Lady of Fatima statue, Sacred Heart of Jesus statue, and St. Kateri statue.  I also have a crucifix in my living room and a cross in hanging in my bedroom with the stages of the passion of Christ carved into it.  I have rosaries sitting on my nightstand and a bookshelf full of great Catholic books.

I have a couple icons
pictures of JPII and B16
Picture of Archbishop Naumann
picture of my patron St Pio
A crucifix
Rosary
Home thurible
Wedding pictures of friends who have been married
Other notes and prayer requests.

My altar area is basically set up a a visual reminder of the daily prayers I want to say for those who are important in my life, with the exception of asking my Patron to help me in my faith, I try to only pray for others with what I have there.
