What if I told you that I strongly disagreed with something Voris said yesterday?

WHAT IS THIS? THE TWILIGHT ZONE? FAN BOY SAY WHAT?

I felt his assessment of what Father Jonathan Morris said was harsh and uncalled for. If you don't know, Father Jonathan Morris was on Fox News while the Pope was leaving, and he thanked the Holy Father and all that he did, but he went on answering questions by the anchor and accidentally said "It's not like everyone has to be Catholic..." That is, as Michael Voris said, completely false. However, he was probably nervous or wasn't thinking clearly and did not mean it, and I don't like how Voris said this was not the likely scenario, and that the problem was that he probably accidentally said what he meant to say.

I LOVE FR. MORRIS.

I do too!

So, anyway, after being examined and purged clean through the flames and have proven I do not have unfailing loyalty to Michael Voris, am I in?

Don't even know what it is.

Good. I do not like fisheaters.com because many of the resources are very anti-VII. VII is straight bangin'. This does not mean yes.

Vatican II is beautiful. Misrepresentations were horrendous, but the document itself is not in any way evil or bad. As my spiritual director (A hardcore traditional Catholic) said, a lot of it was just revising some of the unnecessary parts of the Mass. For instance, during the consecration a Priest had to bless the contents during the consecration a crazy number of times. I think it was nine. Anyway, he said they changed it to just one, and that was valid and okay. Nothing wrong about taking away unnecessary things when one blessing suffices.

The notion of unnecessary is debatable. A lot of things were labelled unnecessary... perhaps rather hastily.

I do not, of course, mean "necessary for validity", because if that was the guiding principle it would only be the words of consecration remaining.

He actually teaches Sunday school at his parish.

I was under the impression that he no longer taught since he was so busy with his show.

I did not know that Colbert is Catholic. Yay!

He was also his daughter's catechist. He knew the Nicene Creed so well it would melt your heart in the De-Deification of the American Faithscape clip from at least as far back as 2007 (first clip I ever saw). He calls himself Catholic in his first book at least (have not read the second yet): there is an article I read a while back that said his approach to religion in comedy was to laugh at what people did in the name of religion and not the religion itself, which I think shows more respect for religion than many in his field. Another article talked being asked how he could be a Catholic and make fun of leadership (political) and he said that it was harder being a dad and doing that (since he is leadership in the family). His knowledge of the faith was clear when he interviewed Anglican or Episcopalian Bishop N.T. Wright. In a televised interview, I think on a morning talk show, he spoke of offering up suffering.

He has Nas on...One of my favorite rappers...Nas said Colbert is his favorite talk show host...So Colbert can reach a Nas with the faith where a Voris would make Nas hate the Church more...

You made me watch Michael Voris just so I could see what was said. I'm not happy.

From just that quote (of course the context might change things) I would argue that Voris is overreacting. No-one has to be Catholic. Free will, etc. Evangelisation ≠ ARGH YOU MUST BECOME A CATHOLIC YOU HEATHEN.

To say from that one quote that Fr. Morris does not support evangelisation borders on slander.
