I am so tempted to write a letter to this guy's Bishop. Does anyone know if he has been excommunicated or denied communion? I don't want to write a letter about something that has already been taken care of.

I am not sure why Garry Wills continues to claim that he is Catholic.

He may claim to like St. Augustine, but I doubt he would like what St. Augustine said in his homilies on the psalms:  "Christ was literally carried in His own hands when He set before us His own body with the words: 'This is my body.' Obviously He was carrying that body in His own hands. Such is the humility of our Lord Jesus Christ, the humility so deeply impressed upon men."

You can see when Colbert gets ticked.  He's said in interviews that there are some topics that he hates making jokes about, two of which being Tolkien and the Eucharist.  Colbert's not perfect, but the man really does love his faith. :)

I'm taking a class on Augustine right now - if I've learned anything, it's that scholars can make Augustine say pretty much whatever they want.  Of course, some are more right than others...

A.) Awesome that he has such limits. . .a lot of people in entertainment don't.

B.) YES! Especially when it comes to "predestination".

I did not know that Colbert is Catholic. Yay!

I have officially sent an email about this heretical manifesto.

I hope you were careful and tactful about it. :P

I would appreciate it, actually. There have been several times where I have wanted to write to bishops or priests, and in the end I did not do it, for several reasons.
