Nihil Obstat
Very fitting that this is taking place during Lent.
OnlySunshine
I had to stifle tears. But I have to say that I am excited about who might be chosen for the next Pope! :)
TheLordsSouljah
Call me conservative, but I'malways concerned about the conclave and choosing a new shepherd...
Nihil Obstat
Call me conservative, but I'malways concerned about the conclave and choosing a new shepherd... It is a natural fear. We could end up with a real lemon. The Church is protected from error, but not from lame popes. I do not think that will be the case, because I am naturally an optimist, but the possibility is actual.

Amppax
Very fitting that this is taking place during Lent. Actually, I've been talking to some Sacred Music majors, and they're freaking out. They have no idea how to handle this. The music proper to this sort of thing CAN'T be done during Lent. To make it worse, the usual work around that is to do Funeral music, but they can't because Benedict's not dead!

Very interesting. I had not thought of that. Are there older proper chants that can be licitly substituted?
add
Rock on “And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.†Matthew 16:18-19.
