Kateri89
I just bought the documentary Salt and Light Television produced about her and looooved it :proud: Just wondering if anyone has had any experience praying for her intercession? So many of my favorite saints were priests, nuns, etc. but St. Gianna was a laywoman and it was deeply inspiring to see her live her vocation to marriage and motherhood with a great love for the Lord. elizabeth09
Given one life for another life is so priceless. I heard that her last child is very pro-life and willing to talk about her mother and how she was saved because her mother had choose life over death for her. I've fallen in love with St. Gianna. She was a woman of moral character, courage, and love for Christ. I saw her biography on EWTN a few months ago and I was speechless. In an age where the secular culture condones abortion because of medical issues, St. Gianna was determined to deliver her baby at all costs -- even if that meant losing her earthly life. She is amazing and my mom loves her, too. :)
Pax_et bonum
A couple of relics of her (some of her hair and her fetal stethoscope) were enshrined at a hospital in my city this weekend. It was a pretty big deal, and there were events leading up to it. I went to a Mass with our bishop for couples struggling with infertility (it was at the convent and I was already there for a retreat so I stayed for the Mass), and we were able to venerate her relics and touch a holy card of her to the first class relic. Bishop was saying in his homily that most of her miracles are very pro-life: they had to do with couples struggling to conceive or difficult pregnancies and the like. It was a really great Mass. Salt and Light also has a documentary on St. Kateri that came out for her canonization.
