Christ's Second Coming

Okay so I know in the Bible (somewhere) it says that Christ is returning "soon." It also says that no person knows the day/hour when He will come back. So to be clear, I'm not asking anybody to predict when Jesus will return to Earth, but I'm genuinely curious about the meaning of "soon."

I noticed in the Scholar forum, Theoketos stated that Christ is returning "soon" also. I just would like some thoughts on what that term means in this context.

As an additional question, do you think we are in the "end times"? I know that technically all the eras after Jesus ascended are the "end times," but more specifically, is THIS the end times?

I really just want your opinions and thoughts, and less of a lecture, if that's alright by y'all. I'm not afraid of the Second Coming or anything, and I have no plans to misuse your opinions to start some false prophecy, as indeed, nobody knows exactly when He'll come back.

Thanks!

While we get alot of hooligans declaring the world is ending soon, for the most part we don't live in the "worst times ever".  Consider 1347 when the black plague whiped out nearly 1/3 of the humans on earth.  Years later there was a great western schism that had 3 false popes at once...it wasn't a good time to be alive....

nearly 700 years later things are pretty bad, but we aren't loosing 1/3 of the population of the world and the papacy is protected so...meh...don't follow signs...there were more back then

I don't know, our times are pretty bad. But reading this makes me think of my Western Civ class last semester. *sigh* It was fascinating.
