fides' Jack
So, now that the realization of having a new baby is finally settling in, I'm finding myself filled with a joy I've never really had before. Even now it's hard to stop smiling. My dad had told me that whenever he had a new kid (I have 6 brothers), he always got what he called a "high". I didn't feel this with the last one, but I'm wondering if this is what he was talking about. Have any other dads here experienced this?

Autumn Dusk
I think it's common. My dad said that he got more excited with each boy, and I was icing on the cake. My mom was born to mother, so I think that the love started with my eldest brother. She was actually afraid to have another child because she was afraid she wouldn't love the next one as much as my eldest brother. My dad was more of the "lets try and see, if we don't love the second one we'll stop." There are four of us ;)
Brother Adam
Every single time your new baby smiles, coos, or giggles, you are on top of the world as a dad.
