Allykatzlive
I am a Military Brat. With the recent wars I have ended up going to alot of Catholic funerals with military tradtion. However, I have had a few epic fails trying to explain that it is normal and acceptable to have a the grateful nation speech and the 21 gun salute at a catholic funeral/ burial. I have seen it gracefully done and as far as I know it is accpected by the church(please let me know if it not.) But How do I explain to people this without having another Epic Fail. Basilisa Marie
As far as I know, as long as things happen outside the context of the Mass, it's fine. Like, you have the Mass, and do the salute at the grave site. I know even just in the US, there are lots of different burial traditions (New Orleans has a big parade to the grave yard, my Irish friends in New England have someone play bagpipes, etc). Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

What exactly are people asking you? I am not sure I understand what is so hard (for them) to understand about this. Allykatzlive
Well They ask How is that Possible and is it ethically moral? But I do Say it is Two Different burial Services one after another usally. I show these clips. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XO6Q2Wjx_R4 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PVBd_v4GJhA The second one make some confused but I thought it was a good example. That is when they start asking the questions above. And I tell them the statement above and they get more confuse. If you know these people I am really sorry for posting them. I am just using them as an example.
