Allykatzlive
I don't know how many people here refuse to buy GS Cookies but I refuse to buy them. For moral and ethcal reasons, I don't support them due to the support of GS from Planned Parenthood. I don't even eat them because of this. I hope I am not alone. homeschoolmom
Aside from that, they're overpriced and they always come during Lent. There are many reasons to not buy them, imho.

DiscerningCatholic
The ones in my area cost $5.50 a box. Ain't nobody got money for dat! And I certainly don't have $5.50 to spend on cookies that will pay for Planned "Parenthood."
Papist
I have yet to see an actually girl scout sell cookies. I always get a visit from her parent asking me to buy cookies. Co-workers are the worst. I am tempted to have ready a fake order form that I can whip out and say, "My son is selling lollipops. How many can I put you down for?" I wish the boy scouts would drop the popcorn and sell cookies.

I wish it was not so high-pressure so that whatever the girls did or didn't sell was good enough. But no, the parents pretty much have to get involved. :ohno:
Papist
Did anyone sell candy bars in school for a fundraiser?
homeschoolmom
Did anyone sell candy bars in school for a fundraiser? Lots of them. Lots and lots of them. Dots, M&Ms, and candy bars...
Basilisa Marie
We did candy bars, and "Entertainment" coupon books. Mostly for band fundraisers. But when I was in elementary school they'd bring in the fundraiser guy and have an assembly and talk about selling techniques and all the cool stuff you'd get (that nobody got) if you sold ALL THE THINGS. Looking back it's pretty seedy, no wonder my mom hated fundraisers. She would always rather donate straight to the school, or donate extra to help another kid go on a band trip or field trip, because we had the means. No sense in some third party getting a cut of the money if we were going to spend it anyway.

So I did, and I got a lot of money and sold a lot of popcorn. After realizing giving that many boxes of popcorn to so many different houses sucks eggs in the major degree, I quit selling the popcorn except to relatives. Basilisa Marie
IDGI. Why? Probably because running around to all the houses in the neighborhood has lost it's appeal the first time you do it. First time, feels like Halloween. Second time, you can't stop til you're done. :)
PhuturePriest
IDGI. Why? Going all over town delivering over two thousand dollars worth of popcorn is no fun at all.
