Salesian Come & See

So as most of you know, this past weekend I attended my second Come & See retreat with the Daughters of Mary Help of Christians (Salesian Sisters). Let me start by saying that it was absolutely amazing!!

When I arrived there on Friday, it was just in time for Evening Prayer. Unfortunately because I was a few minutes late, I was rushing a little bit & found myself distracted. Afterwards, we had dinner, and then played some odd version of charades. It was a blast!!

Saturday morning we woke up, and went down to the Provincial House for Morning Prayer & Mass. Then we had breakfast, and did chores. After, we helped Sr Mary Rinaldi sort handbags for a fundraiser for the school.

Then we had lunch, and helped Sr Colleen paint a banner. During that time, I met with Sr Colleen & did my first of three interviews. It was funny because she &  I were just talking about how the weekend was going, and how I was feeing; and based from that conversation she goes"So you know we do the interviews first right?", to which I responded "yes". And then just like that, she asked me if I wanted to do my first one right then  there. The interview went very well! :) We talked about my family, and school, and really just basic questions. Then Saturday night, in place of Evening Prayer, the Aspirants, Sr Juliett & Sr Merissa, and all of us on the Come & See, went to The Visitation. (Basically, its Evening Prayer, Adoration, & fellowship; and it has a very similar atmosphere to Youth 2000 or Camp Veritas. Its put on by the young men who are in formation with the Salesian priests & brothers.)

On Sunday, we woke up & had Morning Prayer. After that, we had breakfast & then went to CCD. I was able to help Sr Juliett (for the second time. I helped her on my first Come & See). After class, we all went to mass with the students & then headed back to MHC for lunch. After lunch, I met with Sr Phyllis (the superior for MHC) and did my second interview. It was very similar to my interview with Sr Colleen, in that Sr Phyllis asked about school, and my family/. One of the questions she asked me was if my wanting to enter had anything to do with my mom passing away. And I assured that it didn't, because it really doesn't. Shortly after that, my dad came to get me.

So I didn't get an application this weekend. I still need to do my interview with Sr Karen, who is the Provincial Superior. She is the one who would give me the actual paper application. I will be emailing Sr Colleen later today to set up my interview with Sr Karen. I truly feel that this is where God is calling me. As I move forward, I ask for your prayers. Please know that you are all in mine. <3
