PhuturePriest
Leviticus, it is an often misunderstood and overlooked book, many consider it dry and boring, but to me it is a very pastoral book that when we stop and pray, ask the WHY the book is beautiful and can open up so much of the faith to us. Leviticus was really hard to read for me. I know there is a lot more to it than I was able to read, though. I should probably try it again sometime. 4588686
Job or Psalms or Proverbs, Or Wisdom, or Mark. I like most of St. Paul's letters.

jazzytakara
I've always like Acts, as I my favourite story was the conversion of Saint Paul. I remember as a child hearing a song about Saint Paul and reading Acts to learn more. Than as a protestant in the United Church of Canada, I lead a sermon based on Saint Paul's conversion, stressing that God can work wonders even in a sinful heart. Now that I'm becoming Catholic (being received this Sunday, Confirmation and First Communion this coming Easter) I feel that Saint Paul is one of my patron saints. =)

Not The Philosopher
From the OT: - The Psalms: as a result of praying the Liturgy of the Hours, this is probably the part of the Bible which has been most fully absorbed into my "DNA", so to speak. Plus, I love poetry. - The Song of Songs: Similarly, as love poetry it is great. But when you look at it through the allegorical lens of the love between Christ and the Church, it is wonderful. From the NT: - Matthew: Ever so slightly edges out John. I love the Sermon on the Mount, the Temptation in the wilderness, the agony in the garden... - Romans: Actually I'm not sure why. TheLordsSouljah
Haha! I like Romans because it's pretty much "Stop drinking and fornicating with each other, you disgusting slobs!" :P Hehe, Galatians is the same!! It is practically the Christian anti-orgy book. They really needed to stop. Love Galatians 2:20: '....I have been crucified with Christ and yet I am alive; yet it is no longer I, but Christ living in me. The life that I am now living... I am living in faith, faith in the Son of God Who loved me and gave Himself for me.' The Gospel of John (Beautifully theological - backed by Paul) Judith/Esther/Ruth/Tobit (Even if these were fairy tales and not in the Bible, to me they are stories worthy of movie making!) Song of Songs (guess an aspiring sister doesn't need to explain this one) Philemon (because of the novel Twice Freed)
Gabriela
The Gospel of John is like a really good book that you love to read and every time you read it, you notice something you didn't notice the last time you read it. Like a Disney movie. I don't really have favorite books. I guess if I had to choose, they'd be Genesis and Exodus. I definitely have favorite stories, though: Abraham haggles with God over Sodom (and wins!) The calling of Samuel in the Temple The conversion of Ruth (OT) Joseph's whole life The public smack-down of Judah by Tamar The Annunciation The Centurion The "Lord help my unbelief" guy Jonah's attempted flight from God . . .
