Is It Permissable To Change Your Lenten Penance?

If your examine your conscience, and your intentions are good, I think it is fine.


One of us is right. If I'm wrong then she'll just be brought to further holiness for ensuing a penance she didn't prefer. But if you're wrong she'll go to hell. She should assume that I'm right just to play it safe.

Not really. I'm not very good at my job and regularly violate my professional ethics. Speaking of which, I'll write you a prescription for Vicodin for $50

Funny, that sort of thing is how my dad's old GP lost his ability to practice medicine...
