that is a terrible thing for people to say.  i can't believe that very many people think this way.  if they

do then they need to repent and get their act together.  if there is ever a woman priest i will leave.

and why do we need a Vatican 3?  look at the havoc Vatican 2 caused?  nuns wear secular clothing or cut off habits,

there is very little reverence during Mass and especially to the body of Christ.  there i other abuses i'm sure that i know

no of.  i don't even want to think about what a Vatican 3 would do to the church.

When I become Pope I'm going to radically ratchet up the conservatism.  I'm even going to reintroduce the segregation of the sexes during Mass.  But I'm going to excommunicate you for the lols.

Article basically nails it. The Church is suffering from the same problems as the GOP. Retreating backwards into the dark only reinforces the problems that the Church is suffering from. Time for someone to open up a new era and return to what Jesus and Peter wanted.

Perhaps the leaders of the Anglican faith accept homosexuals because they actually believe the behavior to be moral, not because they're "feckless" and just want to fit in with the crowd as people here keep accusing them of.

 

Oh, and no one here is forcing the Catholic Church to accept homosexuals.  Obviously, the Church is independent and is going to do whatever it wants, but when your group is public and highly visible you can expect a lot of commentary about what you should do. Deal with it.

But even with that, we are promised Heaven. We are poor, we are empty handed, and they spit on our Holy Things; but Jesus is Lord, now and forever. They will hate everything that bears His Name worthily--every institution, every man, every woman, and every child; but we have Heaven, kill me, curse my name, hate my church for not succumbing to "this present age," but still from that He is Risen and He is now what he always was "Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace" [Isaiah 9:6] and "the Way, the Truth, and the Life." [John 14:6]

 

Be proud that they still hate your church. No one hates the Episcopal Church anymore.

I knew something was up with secular news coverage last night. My boyfriend asked why it was called Ash Wednesday and explained the ashes being placed on our foreheads. He then became worried that I would become victim of a hate crime. I asked him why he would think that and his response was: "Have you not watched CNN lately"? I guess with him increasing his viewing lately due to the CRTC and Christopher Dorner, he had witness numerous anti-Catholic broadcasts claiming church scandal over the Pope's resignation, and numerous other nasty anti-Catholic sentiments. He was actually worried I would be attacked. Also this morning after Ash Wednesday mass, and older gentleman made the comment: "these days its like walking around with a target on our heads". Scary thought to think that people are afraid they will be attacked for going to mass in Canada, a country supposedly invested in multiculturalism, rights and freedoms to religion, and laws against hate crimes and discrimination.

Well.  There are a lot of religions out there making a lot of crazy claims.  It's probably hard for them to keep up with all the bullpoo.

Two points of interest. One, it's very ironic how the so called supporters of tolerance end up being intollerant themselves. Why can't the Church operate as she wishes? There are many different worldviews and the contemporary Western one only represents one, albeit abberational, version. Sorry Mr Donovan but the majority of the world does not share your view towards homosexuality or a female priesthood. Furthermore, it's intollerant of you to force your opinions on the rest of the world! Secondly, it's interesting how the liberals view Vatican II, basically a break from tradition. Reminds myself of what the real Catholics have to fight against.
