As far as I an concerned, they should put that 'commentary' back where it came from. I would tell you where that is, but it is somewhat inappropriate. :proud:

Most of the secular articles and news reports I've seen has included at least some criticism of Pope Benedict and the Church, so this article's no surprise,

Two points of interest. One, it's very ironic how the so called supporters of tolerance end up being intollerant themselves. Why can't the Church operate as she wishes? There are many different worldviews and the contemporary Western one only represents one, albeit abberational, version. Sorry Mr Donovan but the majority of the world does not share your view towards homosexuality or a female priesthood. Furthermore, it's intollerant of you to force your opinions on the rest of the world! Secondly, it's interesting how the liberals view Vatican II, basically a break from tradition. Reminds myself of what the real Catholics have to fight against.

Article basically nails it. The Church is suffering from the same problems as the GOP. Retreating backwards into the dark only reinforces the problems that the Church is suffering from. Time for someone to open up a new era and return to what Jesus and Peter wanted.

Yep, Jesus Christ and St. Peter were all about birth control, homosexuality, and womyn priests, and want you to support Obama.  CNN sez so.

You know these things are always going to be good when they start off with things along the lines of "I'm a lifelong Catholic...."

It's kind of like how people start off ideas with "Now hear me out..." Whatever comes after that is not going to be good.

Or, "No offense, but..." You know whatever follows is going to be offensive!

For instance: "No offense, but... Don't you think it's presumptuous to call yourself Miss Scripture?" Even if that was being presumptuous, I don't think it's nearly as presumptuous as calling myself Future Priest. :P

Gosh, if I can't be a priest... I guess there's nothing I can do but the dishes.

While you are in the kitchen, make me a sammich.

I've seen people mentioning Vatican 3 here and there, is this the baloney they're talking about?? Really, can't they be more creative at least? We're tired of hearing the same old whining....

You don't consume Jesus. You just eat bread. Your religion, like all religions, is silly. If you want to believe it then fine. And if you just kept it to yourself then it would just be a matter of tolerating people who want to believe that they consume a Jewish carpenter's body and blood every week or so. But of course you're not content with that. You want to put the force of law behind your silly beliefs. Gay couples can't marry because the same Bible that thinks that slavery is fine and genocide is sometimes normative considers homosexuality wrong.

Well, if a carpenter and a fisherman didn't think it was ok 2,000 years ago then perish the thought!
