Even those who are striving for holiness are not perfect though. Some struggle with particular sins while others do not. I recommend reading conversion stories like in the Surprised by Truth series (books) and or watching The Journey Home on EWTN which can also be found on youtube. St. Therese was indeed a great and holy woman, but there are many great and holy men and women who were nothing like Therese. I will never be like Therese, because that is not the person I am. But that does not make me a bad Catholic or mean I cannot be just as holy as Therese, just in a different way. The apostles are not all cookie-cutter copies of one another.
