Nihil Obstat
Wow, Cardinal Arinze is looking great for a man of his age, and still sounds as excellent as always. This is the first recent video I have seen of him. I would certainly not be sad if the Holy Ghost calls on him, even though I am sure he would prefer a quiet retirement. :P

He's getting old, but he looks exactly the same as he did ten years ago! He looks like he is in great health, too. I certainly would not be disappointed if the Holy Ghost calls him to the papacy either.
MIKolbe
What struck me most in that video was the ease with which he smiled. He smiles like a man who seems to really trusts the Lord. His faith seems to eminate from him.

His voice is still strong, he does not look slow. If I saw him on the street I would guess he was late 60s. Still, my personal expectation is that the next pope will be no older than about 73. What struck me most in that video was the ease with which he smiled. He smiles like a man who seems to really trusts the Lord. His faith seems to eminate from him. I agree. There is a certain very strong sincerity in the way he speaks, and in his body language.
Basilisa Marie
I was gunning for Arinze last election. :) Like Nihil, I think they'll probably pick someone under 75, but I still think Arinze would be a good choice, even if he was pope for only a few years. Gabriela
"Like thunder that gives no notice that it's coming..." I love Africans. They speak like kings, every one of them. :-) It's also my experience that they age exceptionally well. LOL.
Papist
Saw Cardinal Arinze at our Eucharistic Congress. The man just puts you at ease in his presence.
