Psychology

I'm not sure if I'd go as far as introversion and extroversion don't exist.  From personal experience at least. I remember my brother's graduation party last year (which is the last real party i've been to),  I enjoyed seeing people I hadn't  seen in a while and stuff like that but, after a while , I  started to feel drained and wanted to go home, then went back and helped clean up and such when it was about over.  Perhaps it had to do with Aspergers (Yes, I'm diagnosed) but still, I ind it hard to believe introversion doesn't exist.

The characteristics associated with introversion exist, I am not disputing that. But the concept of introversion and extroversion as two ends of a scale and as discrete categories is very very sketchy.

As someone who typically would be considered an introvert, I am not content with the idea of an introversion-extroversion spectrum. I do not feel that it accurately captures my own personality.

I have at times said that I was a shy extrovert, but I do not think that is correct either.

For me, there is simply more elements to it than simply introverted or extroverted.

Exactly. They fit neither the pattern of discrete categories or of a spectrum.

The second psychology comes in I go all psychologist. I can't help it. :P

Better than a bunch of people who, at best, have taken one or two intro college courses and think they are qualified to psychoanalyze everyone and their cat. :smile3:

Since introversion doesn't imply shy and extroversion doesn't imply outgoing, that actually makes sense. (You've perfectly illustrated the common misconceptions about introversion and extroversion.)

Did you know that men marry girls like their mothers and women marry men like their fathers? I read it in a Seventeen article once. I also read that opposites attract.
