And regarding the snow being nothing - even when I lived out in Idaho, where snowpack was taller than me most of the winter, 36" in one night was still a lot! morostheos
when did they start naming snowstorms? The weather channel started this year - I personally think it's ridiculous, especially their choice in names.
Debra Little
Some pictures from today - the whole state looks like this!! 3 cars in the parking lot: My porch: Another view of the parking lot: wow, at my place too. michicgan was hard hit. we are buried when did they start naming snowstorms? it started overnight on Thursday night into Friday all day. Saturday it snowed all day again and Sunday for part of the day. More snow all week. Ding ding ding!! Correct!! And regarding the snow being nothing - even when I lived out in Idaho, where snowpack was taller than me most of the winter, 36" in one night was still a lot! i should have had a pair of snowshoes the other day. i thought i'd be smart and take a shortcut. through at least a foot of snow. i lost my balance three or four times and finally got to the other side of all the snow. i think it would have been faster to walk in the street. haha. Norseman82
We didn't get a lot of snow in Chitown - but Thursday it started out as freezing rain, then it switched to a wet snow later Thursday afternoon and night. So, by the time I woke up Friday there was a top half of snow covering a bottom half of ice/frozen slush. Breaking up the ice was a fun way to spend my half vacation day on Friday.
