Prof Problem... What Would You Do?

It's the same thing as if you get food you don't like in a restaurant. Tell him if he doesn't straighten up, you'll talk to his manager, and maybe fill out an unfavorable comment card.

 

It's not the same at all. College isn't a restaurant. In a restaurant, the customer has power, because s/he can refuse to return to the restaurant and spread words that it's awful. CC will be stuck with this guy for the next 4 years. Threatening him will only make things worse.

That's the sort of attitude that makes people eat improperly prepared food.

We had a professor in college that not only wasn't teaching the subject matter that the class was supposed to teach (and was in the outline for the semester), but teaching a different subject on a much higher level (graduate level teaching freshmen undergrads). We decided since we were paying $1800 for the course it was BS and we went to the dean of students. The professor, who had tenure, was disciplined and rather embarrassingly so. We all ended up with C's, but at least we all passed.
