Debra Little
Why has the Rosary been changed to add Luminous mysteries? For hundreds of years there was 15 mysteries t0 the Rosary and now there are 20. This has always bothered me. And who started this? Has it been approved by the Holy Father? Only one of the Luminous mysteries involved our Blessed Mother. And why do they keep changing Mass? What was wrong with the way it was? I don't like the change in the words. CatherineM
The Luminous Mysteries were begun by Pope John Paul II. He had a special relationship with Our Lady and the Rosary. The mass itself has not changed. We have just done a more accurate translation of the original Mass from the Latin that has not changed for centuries. The original translation into English was just done a bit fast. It was meant to be temporary until we did the final form. 50 years isn't so long to call temporary when dealing with a 2000 year old Church.
