Apathetic Confirmation Student

My cousin is supposed to get Confirmed this spring. Her parish is really laid back and let kids send in Confirmation assignments months late. When I did Confirmation, if we missed a certain amount of classes and had missing assignments we'd be held back and receive the sacrament a year later.

 

She hasn't chosen a Confirmation name yet. My aunt got on my case about finding one that my cousin would like. I made plenty of suggestions out loud to her, but she didn't was silent and uninterested, so I don't know what she likes and doesn't like. All I've been told is that she wants a pretty sounding name.

 

This same cousin and my aunt don't consistently go to mass every week. Her dad isn't Catholic and sometimes she stays at home when her mom sometimes goes since her dad is staying at home.

 

Some of my relatives predict that she'll ask me to be her sponsor at the last minute and I'll have to say yes. It's sad though, because it looks as if I won't be having an impact on her. It'll just be a title to fill a requirement in, just like how her mom is my Godmother and another uncle of mine who stopped going to mass I don't know how many years ago is my Godfather.
