Mr. Anne Line is working, so tonight I've decided to invite a friend over for dinner and fix a special menu! If you have ideas for next saturday night, do let me know.... we'll be ready for something else by then, I am pretty sure.... 3 guesses what tonight's theme is.... he he he My guest: The One Eyed Purple People Eater!!!! Menu for the for 3rd Saturday in Lent: Appetizer: Stuffed Potato Skins: Main Course: Beef in Red Wine (discovered by accident one time that if you use RED wine rather than WHITE wine in beef stew... well, turns out kinda, well, a distinctive color....) Served over white rice for contrast. ;) And for an unusual dessert... Baked Purple Sweet Potatoes served with Vanilla Ice Cream (really really good, believe it or not!) He wanted to know if I was joking when I called him 2 hours before my previous bedtime to let him know I was about to go to sleep (he works nights, remember....) He also wants to know why I keep making the bed and doing the dishes. I feel like I've been a BAAAD housewife for uh, nearly 20 years..... :paperbag: But one always needs to try new stuff, right? I'll admit it -- that FLYLady Lenten thread is eating up my random thread time... that and a semi-fried PC. Either fed it an inappropriatedly cooked update over the weekend... or fell into the darkside with a malware update. One or the other. Fortunately someone nice is helping me to get it resurrected if possible over the next few days. Say a prayer.... In the meantime, I am working on increasing my love for the laptop (we have a mixed love-hate relationship at present), but I'm doing better than I was on Saturday, so that is progress. But I think I must be doing too much texting because I think my fingers think the laptop feels like the texting keyboard... I keep trying to find the same buttons on the laptop! Going to a rosary for a friend's mom in a few minutes... she died the morning Pope Francis was elected... and will have her funeral tomorrow. How incredible is that? The AnneLines are planning to celebrate a bit. Mr. AnneLine brought home a little tiny lamb roast for us to have on Holy Thursday afternoon.... before the Triduum. Thinking of adding homemade flat bread, grapes, and some spinach and apples mixed with nuts to round out the meal. Yup, menu based on the passover meal, Yup. And then we go off to the Church for the Mass of the Lord's Supper and Adoration. God will be the cook for that part of the celebration. Yup.
