1. There is nothing wrong with bag ladies.
2. That sounds awfully judgmental of bag ladies.
3. That sounds vain.

Well aren't you a little ray of sunshine.

The last time I had nail polish on I was a young child and my sister had painted my finger and toenails red because she's a sadistic psycho. I didn't recall any destruction of nails going on after it slowly faded away a week later.

Always wear basecoat. Find one that has nail strengthening and stuff like that. I have a Rimmel one (don't know if you can get that in the US) that makes my nails amazing. Also look at Sally Hansen, they have some awe.some nail care stuff. I used the Miracle Cure when my nails were terrible and it really helped.

I've also found that buffing my nails (about once a month) made them much better in that regard. And don't pick at or peel your nail polish.

Speaking of nails, have any of y'all ever had fake nails done? I'm talking gel or acrylic ones, not the kind you do yourself.

I'm thinking of getting them done as a motivation for me to grow my nails out (nail biter here) and then to stop them from breaking once they do grow out (which happens every time).

There is something called Shellac that is hard like acrylic but doesn't require basically destroying the nail to put it on, and could help you grow your nails out. I had it on my toes and, though my cousin (and nail tech) told me it would only last a couple of weeks, it lasted nearly six. You just brush it on and you can get it in pretty colors, too. :)

Oh I might look into that. Thanks. :)

I thought this thread was for "making up questions."

Was wondering why someone would have a thread on making up questions to be answered for the heck of it.

I see I was mistaken.  Carry on.

Glad I'm not the only one with this problem.

Nail polish question.

I had some on for but a week and had to take it off today for a show I'm in this weekend and next. Does anyone know why it is that whenever I take nail polish off, my nails get really nasty. I'm not talking about chipping. I'm talking about like layers of nail peeling off and breaking. It's almost like I have to let my nails heal before I do them again.

Any tips?

"polish you pretty" reviewed the whole essie nail care line, so maybe something will work for you: http://polishyoupretty.com/2013/02/28/the-essie-nail-care-system/
