Make Up Question Thread

When I worked with a couple of makeup artists they would put the glittery stuff under the eye in a thin line if it was with a lighter shadow, or if you are wearing a bold color like teal or dark purple, put it in a thick line on the top lid over those colors, plus on the bottom in a thin line.

URBAN DECAY!!! I have the naked and naked 2 palette, sooo awesome. Their primer potion is sweet, I have their foundation, they are cruelty free, I can't say enough good things about them!

And whoever says glitter is borderline hooker has never had it properly applied at the proper event so  :harhar:  it's fun, it's girly, it's awesome!

I would play with it, and see. But I would apply it over eyeliner, IMO, to make it 'pop' and give the glitter something even more cohesive to stick too. UD 24/7 eyeliners are freakin' AMAZING!!!

I would also suggest some youtube videos, xsparkage is great, pursebuzz is great too, and there are some men (people here may find it controversial) who are FABULOUS (really, no stereotypical pun intended) at makeup. Shoot I can't remember his name, his IRL name is Josh though.

I love Urban Decay. I got a palette for Christmas.

BEAUTIFUL Red! I really love the look.

I thought I would ask my makeup question here instead of posting another thread about it. I have never really been one to wear a lot of makeup mostly because my skin is very sensitive and the cheap stuff I had in the beginning of high school just plain hurt my face. I'm now done with college and soon to be entering the professional world and so would like to own some nice makeup for work, particularly if I'm interpreting a wedding or something of the like. I was wondering if any of you lovely ladies know of any good, relatively cheap, makeup products for sensitive skin.

For foundation I wear Bare Minerals. It's $27 but it lasts quite awhile. (I don't have particularly sensitive skin, but I have friends that do and they wear Bare Minerals without problems.) I also use Bare Minerals blush because I like the way it goes on. For everything else I just buy what I like the look of. Sometimes it works well for me, sometimes it doesn't. I've had expensive items that have been downers and cheap ones that have been great (the opposite is just as likely to happen, too lol). I've been wearing Almay's intense i-color line for years; totally cheap but it wears well and I like the way it looks. I change mascara just about every time I buy it, so no really solid recommendations there.

you're making me jealous, woman. :P

okay, so i'm just about to wash off my make up, so i thought i'd try it over my eyeliner, and this is how it came out:

it definitely adds some pizzazz to makeup, so i'd think it's definitely for a more "amped up" look. :)

agreed. :) of course, pretty much if i put make up on, it's out of the norm. :P

Your eyes sparkle like the sun's rays. I like it! Not over-the-top (Or, ahem, "hooker-ish") at all!

Thanks. I won't be wearing mascara anyway as I already have long lashes and wear classes so when I do it smudges on my classes which is just annoying.

For something that lasts longer, get something higher quality, like asian bb creams. I just discovered them, and they are awesome! they are a bit more up front, but they last long and they are good for your skin. http://prettyandcute.com/ sells asian bb creams. missha, lioele, skin79 all have good ratings. I have two different skin79 ones and i love them both.

I use Clean and Clear dual action moisturizer every day, and that helps with keeping my skin nice before I do makeup and after I take it off.  Helps keep my face less irritated - so my advice would be to find a moisturizer you like, maybe an Aveeno brand one.

Red, I love you.  :)  MAKEUP THREAD!!!

As a fellow UD addict, I'm always scoping new stuff from them...what liner did you put the baked glitter over?  I've got the UD 24/7 liner in Demolition, which is a deep matte brown, that would look amazing with that gold glitter.  That stuff is amazing, never had a pencil liner before that did not smudge.  Went to sleep in my makeup one night after a long day of work, just passed out when I got home, and woke up the next morning with the liner still there.  Insane.  (Whisper whisper...at the urban decay site they've got the Smoked liner set with 6 travel size liners on sale for 25 bucks ;) )  I'm back and forth between the UD liners and Bobbi Brown gel liner pots.  I LOVE gel liner, but it dries out quickly in the pot.

I'm VIB at Sephora, lemme know if there is something specific you're looking for.
