Make Up Question Thread

I think I tried eyeliner once but it somehow got into my eyes and stung.  I don't know if I put it on wrong or what but I am reluctant to use it again.

Anyway, I think the glitter eyeliner is best used by itself.  It might look too bold if used on top of regular eyeliner.  ;)

mm i used to poke myself all the time.  Now even on those days I don't put on makeup I still put on eyeliner.  still ... whenever I try a new kind it takes me forever to "learn" how to apply it.  I think the glitter could look good with something underneath - kind of define it a little. I'm thinking brown (not black) would avoid any possible overkill.

What's eyeliner?

It's the stuff in the link - you draw it right next to your lashes on your eyelids and it gives the illusion that your eyes are bigger. Or, if it's a pretty color, compliments your eye color or eyeshadow.  If I wear purple eyeliner my eyes look green, but if I wear black or brown my eyes look more hazel. :)

One time I let my boyfriend do my makeup (without help from me to tell him what things were), because it was a meme going around a few blogs. He did... admirably.  I think I have pictures somewhere...

Then it was my turn.    He makes a very pretty masculine lady.  Those long gorgeous eyelashes...  :hehe2:

My thinking was she said she got gold so it might not show up as well alone. If it were blue or something I'd use it by itself... but I also have a darker complexion so sometimes things just don't stand out as well (not in a flashy way, just in general. If you wear glitter you want to see it at least a little. lol).

Yeah, I think brown would look good, too. I guess it just depends on how bold you'd want it to look.

I always wear shadow and mascara when I wear makeup. I almost never wear eyeliner. lol

thanks for the tip! :) (and I'm the same way when learning new make up tricks)

but you have darker lashes, right? so you don't necessary need eyeliner. if i'm going for a "natural" look, I'll wear light eyeshadow and mascara, but usually I wear eyeliner otherwise.

URBAN DECAY!!! I have the naked and naked 2 palette, sooo awesome. Their primer potion is sweet, I have their foundation, they are cruelty free, I can't say enough good things about them!

And whoever says glitter is borderline hooker has never had it properly applied at the proper event so  :harhar:  it's fun, it's girly, it's awesome!

I would play with it, and see. But I would apply it over eyeliner, IMO, to make it 'pop' and give the glitter something even more cohesive to stick too. UD 24/7 eyeliners are freakin' AMAZING!!!

I would also suggest some youtube videos, xsparkage is great, pursebuzz is great too, and there are some men (people here may find it controversial) who are FABULOUS (really, no stereotypical pun intended) at makeup. Shoot I can't remember his name, his IRL name is Josh though.

Petrilude! Petrilude is the guy who does amazing things with cosmetics. I don't want to hear anything about how guys shouldn't wear makeup or gay people. He is talented, makeup is an art form in many ways, and he has mastered it.

My lashes are darker, but they're not super long and thick. Just kinda average, I guess. Sometimes I like liner, but most days it feels like too much for my day to day routine.

you're making me jealous, woman. :P

okay, so i'm just about to wash off my make up, so i thought i'd try it over my eyeliner, and this is how it came out:

it definitely adds some pizzazz to makeup, so i'd think it's definitely for a more "amped up" look. :)

LOL for me it's Christmas, tax return, or I splurge. They are too expensive to buy full time. I rarely wear makeup anymore (too busy to care) so it lasts awhile.

Wow, great application! That's definitely gorgeous. I love the 'subtlety' of the glitter. Most glitter eyeliners have chunks of glitter in them, hard to apply and rarely look good. I tried a MAC glitter liner once, it was hard to apply, tugged on my lids, and looked terrible. UD wins again! (funny because when I was 19 or so I was a MACaholic)

I have VIB, used my coupon, but if you want I can give you VIB coupon codes for exclusive samples. Right now I have one for SK-II deluxe skin care samples. I dunno what it is, but it's gotta be good. I don't shop at Sephora much (go in spurts) but you can have the codes if interested.

Yeah, I don't usually put it on unless I leave the house... I feel like going out looking put together and not sloppy is like giving the finger to anyone who thinks having 4 kids is SO hard or that I'm crazy for it. haha "Yeah, I have 4 kids and I look flooping awesome. Deal with it."
