Make Up Question Thread

I just bought some glitter eyeliner and I've never used anything like it before. Okay, I have but it was really poor quality stuff and I used it once and threw it away. The eyeliner I just bought is higher quality, and I expect it will be better than the other stuff. So...how do you wear it? Over regular eyeliner? By itself? Give me some tips, ladies!

I would think you would wear it by itself. The glitter is bold.

I dunno if I'd wear it with anything else on your eyes unless you were going out to some fancy gig or ladies night.

It's a liquid gold glitter one, so I don't know if it would really work as eyeliner should since it's so light?

it's this one, in baked: http://www.urbandecay.com/heavy-metal-eye-liner/82,default,pd.html

Hi Lil Red....glitter is a fine line between cute and hooker.  I use shine eye liner but I'm not even 30 and have been told that glitter is inappropriate...it's mostly left to little girls and highschool teens...atleast in my area.

I'd probably play around with it at home for a few days and see how I liked it best, but my first inclination would be to put it over top of black eyeliner and just use a really muted neutral shadow. (Like, don't leave the lid bare, but nothing colorful. Just taupe or something with a light shimmer.)

As offensive as that comment was, it was really funny in its own completely wrong in so many ways kind of way.

I don't think she was asking if she should wear it or not. On a scale of 1-10 this scores in the negatives for helpful... it actually comes across as condescending and mean.

Psh, I love glitter and shimmery stuff.  I have some sparkly gold eyeshadow creme (in 'birtday suit') that I adore. Makeup is supposed to be first and foremost FUN.

If it were me, I'd use it thinly over some dark stuff on my upper lid, kinda like Icey said.  I have some dark brown powder I use as eyeliner, so if it were me I'd put it over a thicker line of that.  And then maybe pair it with a matte or more neutral-ly lip.

Precisely the problem.

My lame and unimportant guy opinion: Glitter/sparkly stuff = Awesome.

Hey Autumn Dusk...There is a fine line between being helpful and being a certain part of the human body used for waste to exit.

Red, do whatever makes you feel pretty and not care what anyone thinks..this is about how you feel chica!
