I am a person who always wondered how it feels like being a Priest.
I know Priests are human beings but how does it feel to be a Priest
(Alter Christus) and how does it feel to act in Persona Christi?

I'm sure Cappie will be around later to give his perspective. I just wanted to tell you a few things my favorite priest told me how he felt. First, it can be lonely. He said when he was first a priest, that churches had lots of priests. Now they are lucky to have one. He said he had resigned himself to dying alone. As it turns out he did. If he hasn't missed teaching an RCIA class that night, he might not have been found for a couple of days.

He also talked about how he was scared of being accused of something he didn't do because priests are now targets. He said when a priest gets accused they lose their jobs, their homes, their insurance, their friends, and sometimes even their cars overnight. He put a glass storm door in as his office door so that even when giving private counselling, his secretary could see that nothing was going on. He did confession in the cry room with the curtains open and had one of us working in the church so that he couldn't be accused of doing something in the confessional. That was certainly over kill, but I think it is a fear they live with.
