Isn't Chaos Great?

I mean...chaos can bring the best out of people I think.  Shows us what we are made of. Sees if we have what it takes to survive and to protect ourselves and others. Makes for some great stories too.  Wouldn't some worldy chaos be perfect right now to get mankind out of his apathetic stupor.  Something drastic...like a world plague or catastrophie that affects everyone...not just a little portion of the world...idk...been a boring day at work today so my thoughts wander....

ah but man usually tends to step it up when problems arise.  Man has become so lazy, apathetic, and boring with the securities, and mundane routines he has built for himeslf....maybe chaos is not what I need...maybe I just need an adventure.....

I dunno, some of my most defining moments as an adult came through chaos. Due to certain situations occurring that were chaotic and horrible, I met my fiancé, I am more stable financially, emotionally, and more mature. I feel like I have more reasoning skills and abilities. Of course, my upbringing was a bit different. I was raised to figure everything out for myself, with parents as a safety net. They didn't teach me much about being an adult, politics, religion, I taught myself a lot of stuff. I am a better person for these experiences.

The chaos that was in my life eventually is bringing me back to the Church.

I somewhat resent my parents, I could have avoided being saddled with debt, could have avoided taking trips to the inpatient unit if they just made me take my medications, would have gotten a high school diploma instead of a GED because I hated high school (although I am doing great academically now) ... I've always been considered mature for my age due to my experiences.

There is good and bad to both. But...I'm so not ever, EVER, going to raise my kids in such a hands off manner. My sister is now 19 and will never move out on her own because she's too scared. Can't even go deposit her payroll checks alone. Too afraid. I guess I was more bold and ambitious.

My future children...will be guided a lot more than we were. I fear my sister is going to be government dependent and be a system leech because there was too much chaos for her. I love her dearly, but damn, she needs to grow up and experience life and all it has to offer. Chaos has stunted her growth, it helped me.

BTW I am still learning to budget, I do not know much about cooking (figured that out the hard way when I was basically given a job as a shift leader at a Panera bread type place), mom never taught me a lot of feminine stuff like makeup and hair (still suck at it), I am a huge slob because I was never taught as a kid to do chores (I purposefully did bad jobs mowing the lawn and cleaning so they wouldn't ask me to do it again) there is so much more I don't know and it still causes chaos, lol.

Not everyone can cope with chaos. Most need order and gentle guidance. As I get older, I need the latter.

Any spelling or grammar....I'm on my iPad and yeah....hard to type on sometimes.

I would argue that adventure ≠ chaos. You seem to recognize this too. What appears to be chaos might in fact point to an orderliness somewhat beyond our ability to grasp.

If it is true, and I agree that it is, that we especially as Catholics step up our game when things get hard, that does not mean that persecution is good. It means that God, in His omnipotence, can draw good out of evil. Persecution remains evil. We are just able to respond in such a way that draws good from it.

I guess I have got all these Thomistic tendencies, so I want to identify 'Godliness' with order, never chaos.
