MissyP89
I revised my plans, too. Makeup wasn't a big deal. And over the past few weeks, God has shown me that I am NOT taking care of myself the way I should. So after some talks with my confessor and wise friends, I've come up with a new list that is more about building myself up and promoting gentleness. The classic: Giving up sweets For my body: * 9 hours of sleep nightly. (Not going to bed on time means I arrive late to work.) * Walk 30 mins/day, 4 days/week * Follow my doctor's orders. No excuses. For my heart: * A daily exercise given to me by my confessor * More time reading for fun, sitting by the fire, getting some sun, and being still. For my soul: * Divine Mercy on Fridays * Spend time at least on Fridays doing spiritual reading * Praying especially for one person each day. * Praying for my own healing. It should be a beautiful time. Edited February 13, 2013 by MissyP89

AnneLine
Really like what people are doing..... Praying hard for all of you. Gulp. Well, I posted that new FLYLady challenge thread.... intro info posted now, and first challenge will be up in about 2 hours.... Even if you don't want to join me, you might want to check it out and pray for those of us who will be doing it... Isn't it ironic... . was so eager to do this a few weeks back... and now I really don't wanna do it. BUT I've committed, and Lent is about metanoia and making better choices..... and following through on what we promise to God. Please pray for me, too! Lil Red
1. Praying LOTH every day, Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer. 2. Going to try to make either an extra Mass during the week, or Stations of the Cross on Fridays, or Benediction on Sundays (something special my parish is doing during Lent). I figure I can do at least one of these things. 3. Spend some time with the daily readings every day - lectio divina. This is going to be hard for me, as I recently cut out naptime at home, so it will have to be in the mornings or in the evenings. Hopefully it'll get figured out. FutureSister2009
In addition to what I mentioned already, I have also found at my campus ministry office a pamphlet of St. Therese's Little Way for Lent. It's got a little thing every day to read from her and it is a great companion to the Daily Thoughts of St. Therese book I got at the Carmelite Monastery. Mr Cameron
Sweets, fizzy pop, artificial sweeteners, and any baked good besides bread. I might colour my hair purple for the season. Then go white for Easter. I'll look like a rockstar man.
OnlySunshine
I think I have narrowed down what I'm going to do: Eat more fruits and vegetables (I don't eat nearly enough and my diet is suffering) Keep my room cleaned and organized Pray a Rosary or Divine Mercy Chaplet once a day I decided to change my penance on Ash Wednesday. I purchased a book last weekend called "Lenten & Easter Wisdom from Pope John Paul II" from a Catholic gift shop. It's awesome and I love it already! It has a short reading from JP2, a Scripture passage, a prayer, and then a Lenten action. I decided to read this everyday after reading the daily Mass readings so I can become more familiar with Scripture. I get the "Word Among Us" magazine and I barely used it. I'm planning to purchase a Magnificat subscription this Sunday. ;) I'm also: Eating more fruits and vegetables Trying not to procrastinate when doing my homework (I want to make either the Dean's or President's list this semester) I might add more to this throughout Lent, but my study schedule is often so tight that it's difficult to find time. ETA: They have many different saints to choose from but JP2 is one of my patron saints this year and I just LOVE him so I really wanted this book. ;) Edited February 16, 2013 by MaterMisericordiae
