Probably keep my apartment clean.  No dishes overnight in the sink, clothes in the laundry basket, pounding all the adult habits into my self that I've let go. :)

Pray an hour a day minimum, read the Bible half an hour a day minimum, read a book an hour a day minimum, sleep on the floor every night (Except for Sunday nights), fast on Fridays, not go on the internet or do anything technology-related until five in the afternoon (Except quickly looking at important messages), and that's all I have so far. I don't want it to be too lax, so I'm trying to think of other things to add.

Um, and you think this is lax? :|

 i'm kinda worried about this. I mean, good for you for trying, but doing so much tends to get one burned out spiritually, ya know. what about starting with one thing, and every week adding another thing? that way you won't get burned out.

thankfully i'm not the only one!

To Jesus Through Mary

I have been rolling a few ideas around of things to add, but for sure sweets. But I don't want Lent to be just like another diet for me. idk

Hope you run all that by your spiritual director.

Not a bad thing at all. I'm doing exactly what I did last year (Which I never quit doing and loved doing), and I'm actually making it slightly easier. Last year I only did three hours of technology a day, and now I'm just limiting myself to nothing until five in the evening.

I'm going to try...not surfing sites that highly tend to be anti-religion and anti-Catholic. Reddit is huge for me, love that site, but such vitriolic hatred towards religion and Christianity especially. There are Christian subreddits, but its hard to miss the atheistic and self loving undertones of the site. I also 'liked' a few religious satire pages on Facebook, and although I find them hilarious, they are pretty blasphemous and disrespectful. One in particular impersonated God, and hates the Catholic church. He smiles the Pope on a regular basis.

I just need to get myself out of that line of thinking and humor.

That and praying once a day.

/r/atheism tends not to bleed much into /r/Catholicism. :)

Lol, when I unsubscribed from r/atheism, it reminded me of Stepbrothers...

"Look! We have so much room for other people's ideas and opinions!" Even when I was considering myself more atheist, I thought those people were such jerks. My philosophy was to live and let live. If someone wants to be Mormon, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, who cares? No need to make terrible and hateful memes because you think you got all the right answers.

Maybe I'll just sub to r/Catholicism. They seemed like a very faithful bunch the few times I lurked. Not very active though. Too bad.

You will see my around occasionally if you stick around. :)

I am also working slowly on getting /r/Catechism off the ground, as a sort of Q&A hub.

I have no idea what I'm going to do this year.  Last year, I made a big effort to do the Stations of the Cross every Friday at Church with my priest and the congregation (save for one) but now that I don't have my own car, that might not happen this year.  :(

I really need to start working on praying the Rosary daily.  I also fell out of the habit of writing in my prayer journal.

It's not a diet. It's a brutal way to CONDITION the chocolate centers of your brain that scream like angry children when they aren't tended to at regular intervals.

Do it. :| We can suffer together.
