Marriage And Confirmation

My boyfriend was baptised in the Catholic Church and received first Communion but has never been Confirmed. Would he need to be Confirmed for us to be married in the Church?

Not necessarily. It is not required for the validity of the Sacrament.

Can. 1065 §1 Catholics who have not yet received the sacrament of confirmation are to receive it before being admitted to marriage, if this can be done without grave inconvenience.

§2 So that the sacrament of marriage may be fruitfully received, spouses are earnestly recommended that they approach the sacraments of penance and the blessed Eucharist.

However, since Confirmation is one of the sacraments of initiation and since marriage is a sacrament of adulthood which carries with it grave obligations it is obviously that those who are undertaking the responsibilities should be Confirmed
