FutureSister2009
Last week my Parish invited the local Ukranian Catholic Church to come have Mass in the Eastern Rite at our Church to honor the week of prayer for Christian Unity. Unfortunately I was unable to attend because I had returned to school. I really wanted to go. As a Theology major, I was fascinated by it. I had heard that they were not in full Communion with Rome but someone else told me they were. Is it really true? And if they are, then what is the main difference between them and the Roman Catholics? And it is okay for Roman Catholics to attend their Masses and receive Communion there correct? CatherineM
Ukrainian Catholics are in communion with Rome and you may receive communion there. That is not the case with the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. They are not in communion with Rome. It can be confusing because they look very much alike.
