Hi all,

For those of you who remember me, I have decided to come back to Phatmass. I'm not sure who's still around but I'd love to hear from you all. For those who are new here, I'm Allyson aka FutureSister and I was a very active member for a while but I left Phatmass about a year ago due to some issues. But I feel that at this point in time, it's perfect to come back.

I had changed my major to technical theatre last year with no prior experience. I did think I would just walk in and be able to do it. But in truth, one reason why I changed was to impress a guy I liked in the theatre department. His talent really is a gift from God. He never knew I liked him and he never will. Over a period of time, I struggled with my tech theatre classes and it really wasn't what I wanted it to be. And this guy never really paid attention. We had a Christmas party last semester and my friends got me really dolled up for it. Truth be told I still can't believe how they got me to look. And yet, he still didn't notice.

I left that night really upset. I knew it was time to give him up. I prayed a lot to God about it and He revealed to me that He really does want me in Religious Life. I was blinded by this guy I liked and I missed it and got mixed up for a while. There's a world out there that needs to know Christ and God wants me to bring Him to them

So long story short, I am now discerning with the Salesian Sisters of St. John Bosco and will be spending the weekend with them in 3 weeks and I am very excited for the experience! Please keep me in your prayers Pham! Thanks and I'll be sure to share how it was!

I don't know if you know, but I left Phatmass about a month ago and came back yesterday. My past year has been almost to a T what your story is. I discerned for 3 years but then I got distracted by thinking I was called to marriage. Then, for the last 5 months I was crazy chasing some guy but in the end he is totally into my friend. Then God let me realize that he wills me to be in Religious Life.  As soon as I could I filled out a vocation inquiry.

I'm praying for you!

I went through the same process. I got cold feet when it was time for a first date. My heart was totally somewhere else, and I had to be honest with these guys.

And welcome back Future Sister!

Whereabouts are you? I happen to know the Salesian Sisters, in fact, my confirmation sponsor is one!

I'm based in London at the moment but know a lot of the sisters in different provinces including the US too.

Keep in touch and prayers for you.

I am from New Jersey but I am going to school in Pennsylvania. I know the Sisters have their Aspirant house in North Haledon New Jersey which is almost two hours from where I live. That's where I'm going to be staying when I go visit them.
