Gabriela
I think I was just accepted to a PhD program at Duquesne, and they want me to come for a visit this semester. (I'm not SURE I was accepted, because the email was worded strangely, but they did invite me for a visit.) I'm a broke grad student. I can't afford a hotel in Pittsburgh. (I'm not even sure how I'll get there without a car...) I'm wondering if I might be able to borrow someone's nice Catholic couch. ;-) PM me if you prefer not to announce your location publicly. BTW: I see that Opus Dei is in (or near) Pittsburgh. But they don't have anything for women there, do they?

BTW: I see that Opus Dei is in (or near) Pittsburgh. But they don't have anything for women there, do they? 3 things: 1 most places that want a prospective student to visit are either willing to pay for you to stay in a hotel or will offer a few dollars to one of their current graduate students to let you crash on their couch. Call or email to find out if this is a possibility. 2 if they aren't willing to do that, I remember MIKolbe, BG45, cmotherofpearl, and Aloysius all living near that general area. If you're familiar with one of them on the forum, it might be worth it to ask. I have no idea if any of them would even be able to have a guest, but it might be worth asking. 3 check online for local religious and see if they would be willing to open their doors to you for and evening or two. BG45
I'm about an hour and half away from Pittsburgh. Though if you don't mind, I can PM you at least one PMer you might be able to ask who lives ten minutes outside the city. Edit: Brian beat me to it, just read. Though I believe Al is no longer in the area/lives in Belgium attending grad school? Oh, and as one broke doc student to another, congrats on getting in! PhuturePriest
You actually didn't need to post the video. I'm old enough to remember watching this live. Of course. But there are many youngsters here (Excluding myself because my parents raised me right and made sure I watched this) that have never seen it, so the video is necessary for others, rather than just for you. However, be warned that I shall do this in the future, should you be so brave.
