Media Bias? Nah...

March for Life today.  over 400k people showed up.  the handful of counter-protesters was silent

Who covered it?

www.foxnews.com  has it as the main story

www.cnn.com is running 2 main stories: one about JFKs keepsakes up for auction and one about Burt Reynolds in ICU for the flu. march for life is not even a tertiary link on the main page

biased?   fairly obvious to any knucklehead...

The media bias bothers me, and it has nothing to do with what anyone thinks about the March for Life, but it's the blatant lack of seriousness in the media. There is no sense of trying to put the march into context for viewers and understand the march honestly. It's all about creating stupid headlines that dumb everything down to the simple, official storyline: "abortion rights" vs. "abortion rights foes." Our mainstream media is nothing but stupefying noise, there is nothing in it that contributes to serious civic discussion.

I heard it mentioned on NPR. It's not really news if it happens every year.

It's like when code pink complains that they don't get covered seriously for disrupting events. Well, duh. You do something at every event and people just get used to you.

It was also on MSNBC

Allow me to conduct a little thought here, based on the big three (plus NPR) and how I imagine they covered it:

Fox News:  Pro-life activists continue the 40 year prayer vigil that is the March for Life.

CNN:  Anti-abortion activists again marching in the capital on the anniversary of the Roe v. Wade decision.

MSNBC:  Anti-reproductive rights activists who seek to oppress women again showing their bigotry for the 40th year in a row.

NPR:  Abortion opponents marching in D.C. today for the 40th annual March for Life, a protest of the Roe v. Wade decision.  Next up, All Things Considered.

Each with its own distinctive flair and method of referring to people who marched and to abortion itself.  The fact Fox News had it as their main story is just as telling a bias as to how deeply overall it was buried in some other stories.

CSPAN is the best mainstream media source IMO. Don't know if they covered it or not but I enjoy watching CSPAN political coverage.

I suppose that's why Black Friday and the State of the Union Address isn't covered then.

lol not boring, just serious...no loudmouthed "commentators." There are other places to go for opinionated news coverage (online).
