go to st. praxedes (suggested by a nun last time i was there...has a pillar Jesus was flogged on)

see the pope as many times as you can

climb st. peter's cupola

shop on borgo pio outside the vatican

dinner in trastevere

old bridge gelateria outside the vatican musuem

go to st. peter's early in the morning and go to Mass at one of the side altars with just you and the priest

underground catacombs outside of the city (ss callistus, etc)

OH! and go see the statue of st. teresa of avila in ecstasy!! at a church...google it

and all the churches listed here, i think i've been to almost all of them :) http://www.sacred-destinations.com/italy/rome

Definitely check into the blessing by the Pope. I had a friend who recently got married and she and her new husband went to Rome for their honeymoon and received the blessing. Her mom mentioned something about the bride wearing her wedding dress. Not sure on the exact details though.

Bum-bum-bah-buuuump.

So, do you have it all planned? :)

I was at the travel agent today actually. :) Waiting on prices for flights, which I will book on Tuesday, and the hotel and tours for the Vatican and Pompeii are booked. We have eight nights reserved at a four star hotel, which I did not expect to be able to afford. :)

Exciting! The hotel looks fabulous! :)

And in case you think I am a totally weird stalker-type person, I feel I should explain that I came across this thread in a search that I did of the phorum in which one of these posts turned up as a search result. :P

I would rather see the Archbasilica of St. John Lateran again. :)

There's a very good chance this is the hotel I stayed out - everything looks extremely familiar, I just wish I had a better memory lol. I stayed in at least five hotels that trip so it's hard to pinpoint

My husband and I went to Rome on our honeymoon and like you, we were into the traditional Mass.  There was one happening when we went to Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, which is a fascinating Dominican church where the body of St. Catherine of Siena was buried (but her head's in Siena and we went there too!)  We stayed with the Religious Teachers Fillippini right near St. Peter's.  It was booked via Monastery Stays but you can pay less if you book it through the order.  The rooms were not "four star" but they were cheap and the nuns knew we were on our honeymoon so they pushed the two twin beds together :)
